A letter to Santa
I've been a good girl...a very very good girl this year... and one of the things I want for Christmas is this
I'm back
Boy, am I glad to be back.. so much has happened in my life lately, sadly I was not able to post it.
Why don't I start fresh? Well, for starters, I am on my 2-week leave! 2 whole weeks! Hell, yeah!We have this policy at the company I'm working for wherein it's mandated(seriously!) for employees to have a 7-straight-day leave, excluding weekends. Why? To establish work-life-balance, or so they say. Well, who am I to complain right.
Then, my team got axed! Not good! My first thought was, Ack not another series of job interviews...well, interviews are ok, what i hate is the medical exam part! The blood, the urine... you get the picture! Yeah, I was seriously contemplating losing a job. Turned out, we will be transferred (dispersed is a more likely term) to other teams/processes. Support from upper management and HR has been tremendous, they really went out of their way to make the transition smooth, with our best interest at heart. I mean, in my previous stint (call center standpoint) if the account gets sacked for whatever reason(client all of a sudden wanted to pull out just coz they feel like it) everyone's on the line, from agents to leaders to managers! I'm really beginning to heart this company! So, good, right! At least I'm not gonna be part of the unemployment statistics. Sad part is, our team will be distributed, coz no team could accomodate taking in all of us. So we had to go our separate ways... it's just sad that after 6 sweet months with a great team, you had to say your goodbyes and move on and start again. sounds melodramatic, but... well... i'm melodramatic... Ok, ok, I'll spare you the drama!
So that's it, I'm gonna transfer to a different process when I get back, third week of Nov. And I'll be saying goodbye to ever-convenient-so-close-to-everything Ayala, and hello to Net3 at the Fort. Yeah I need a car! Am gonna buy...soon...or maybe later! Plus I need a small condo unit. But first, I need to save up... really really save up. Well..after my trips...maybe!
Next, I'm going on beach trip this weekend, and I heard there's a storm brewing. But it's still a big GO according to my fearless i-don't-care-about-any-storm friends. So there, I'll repost again... if i get back.
Of course I'll be back... there's not a drop of rain here! And we called up peeps in Galera and they confirmed that weather is good, may not be all sunny, but not raging either. So Galera, here we come!

Coastal Scents haul
From Coastal Scents
Took advantage of their BOGO for eyeshadows. Got some face brushes, too! Although, my package is lacking one eyeliner brush (hmmmph!).
What I like bout them is their uber-fast shipping (less than 10 days for international shipping), & uber-cheap prices. What I don't like bout them is that I'm missing a product in my order!
I've heard a lot of raves bout their brushes and after seeing Koren's vid bout these brushes I decided to try it out myself, since i'm still shopping around for good brushes. My verdict on the brushes: For less than $10 for each brushes, I really can't complain much, coz I think I'm just getting what I paid for. It was ok, not very good as I've had better.
The pink stippling brush has that initial synthetic-y smell which eventually fades out once washed. It also sheds like crazy, good thing it's densely-packed. The bristles or hairs are actually quite soft but firm enough for a stippling method application. What I love about it > pink girly handles. What I hate about it > sheds.
The large paddle face brush (w/c they are comparing to MAC 134) does not shed as much. It has a large head, perfect for covering more areas cutting application time in half (perfect for slow-pokes like me). This is also pretty dense. It doesn't have any smell at all. Downside is that this brush is not as soft as would want it, kinda scratchy, not too much though, just a bit.
These brushes would do, while I save up for those much-coveted MAC brushes.
My current HG Mineral Foundation
As yah all know, I've been a staunch user of mineral make-up since January. I realized that I've been putting too much goop on my face, all of which more or less contains substances which could be really toxic to my health. So upon learning bout mmu, I got hooked. It's like make-up going organic! Yay!
So in my never ending search for the ultimate HG material, I stumbled upon Joppa Minerals. Am a sucker for good deals, great buys, sales (am such a cheap-O). I ordered foundation samples from them, some blushes and eyeshadows as well. Am not the eye-make-up type (simply because i dunno how, geez I can't believe i got this old not knowing how to put more than 1 e/s color **cringes in shame**), but since i started sampling and manic-ordering (my dependable credit card always handy), I've quite racked up a few shadows here and there. From EDM (my first buy), Lumiere, Joppa, Meow, Coastal Scents... Anyway, back to original topic, I ordered a total of 6 foundation+fin powder samples, quite cheap too as 3 jar sample only cost me $3. They come in jars, which I prefer, coz some companies put the samples in baggies which can be too messy (too time-consuming!). Light #2 & #3 in soft & full coverage, Prairie Wheat & Nutmeg in Simple Radiance, plus Finishing silk in Sheer & Medium. All foundie shades were too dark save for Prairie Wheat which suits me perfectly. I think I'm acidic since the foundation darkens on me after some time, so I learned that I need to choose a shade lighter than my skintone.
I'm really loving my Joppa foundation and have been using it quite frequently. I will be ordering full pots real soon (just waiting for a great deal on their website, *winks*). It has a soft, velvety feel and has a very smooth finish. It also provides good coverage, I'll say medium coverage but buildable for those who prefer heavier coverage. It's non-matte, and gives that soft dewy, glowy but not shiny look Best of all, it doesn't cake and stays on me the whole day (I just retouched w/ the finishing silk mid-day). All in all, I love this product. I almost gave up on this coz most of the shades I got were off and i got to test this later than the rest of my loot. Another thing I learned, Never give up, keep trying, and that's not just for make-up
Some FOTDs using Joppa Prairie Wheat
Casual Friday FOTD
This is why i never post FOTD/EOTD pics before! Am just using my mobile phone's cam so the picture quality is terrible. I gotta get myself my Sony Cybershot real soon! Am such a camwhore w/o a cam, huh!
What I used:
Joppa's Simple Radiance Foundation in Prairie Wheat, EDM Multitasking Concealer, Finishing Powder in Medium, Meow's Clawset Case Blush, Joppa Glowing for illuminating & highlighting
Maybelline Water Shine Essence in Bewitching Pink as lipcolor
TBS Shimmer waves on eyes
Comeback!
Since i posted and I'm itchin to blog again...been MIA for a couple of weeks already...a lot has gone by and been too lazy to do much bloggin'. Haha...my crazy lazy days...and well, I've been doin a bit of jobhuntin lately, coz i just left my call-center life. It's sad to leave the friends I've grown to love, and the job I've given my heart to. But a girl's gotta do that and move on to a much better life and hopefully make new friends in this new exciting endeavor.
And of course, life goes on!

A very cuddly Hippo...in PinK!
Who'd ever thought a Hippo could be this cute?simply adorable!
if you think this is cute then wait 'til you see what else it can do!!!
Yep, these cuddly animals is a cuddly-toy slash pillow slash blankie. Cool, huh! What is it? It's a Zoobie Pet and I want one! What can I say, it's the child in me... and hey, it has other functions as well. This will be great when going on out-of-town trips or even at the office (when it's too darn cold, or when sneakin a doze-off...hehe).
A bit pricey though, at P2499.74 a pop.

Another good read in John Grisham's Pelican Brief
I just grabbed this book last week, on impulse. When i saw the Grisham books, I thought to myself why haven't i read any of his novels before. Why...oh why??? So i just bought it and forgot about it for a couple of days again coz i got engrossed in another book I've bought with this. Then, 2 days ago I decided to read it, and it kept me up late into the night, way too late. that's how engrossed i am with this new fave author of mine. Sydney Sheldon's and Dan Brown's books are my ultimate reads anytime! I can't get enough of thrillers, suspense... And i used to think that Grisham's books are boring coz of legal jargons, but now I'm a full convert!

My New Suesh brushes
I have yet to use it in applying my MMU but from touching it, i can really say the bristles are very soft. I hope they don't shed ( i hate when that happens). These brushes are from HK but i got it from an online store. These babies are real animal hair (i think pony & squirrel) and are supposedly better at picking up pigments compared to their synthetic counterparts. In fairness to my share of synthetic brushes (well, i only have EDM for now), my EDM brushes are actually very great. I have the long-handled kabuki, the flat top and the foundation brush. They are uber soft (feels like silk on my skin) and do an awesome job in applying mmu. Mineral powders stick to the hair like a charm and delivers the same on my skin so luxuriously that applying my mmu is both a treat and a breeze. I've already washed it a couple of times already, and not once did it shed. This is my HG brush so far.
I have yet to use my Suesh brushes but from the looks and feel of it, Suesh may be right up there too!
Just to add, Suesh customer service is also great. We had a mix-up in terms of the shipping address. It was mistakenly delivered to my office address (as you know, am on sabbatical) but it was eventually straightened out and sheryll was very accomodating and on top of it. Once i get to use the brushes, i'll go right ahead and post a review.

Medical Check-up turned shopping spree
Am supposed to have my mini-head injury/wound checked. I don't want any irritation, much less a scar...Noooooohhh. Too bad there's no doctor available anymore at Casa Medica. What? It's only 4pm! LOL...undertime??? Anyway, i just self-medicated and asked the pharmacist to recommend an anti-inflammatory ointment. So i got myself a small tube of Teramycin Plus. It's described as a first aid for the prevention and treatment of infection in minor cuts, scrapes, burns, abrasions, insect bites, pustules and even pimples! I really should have a first-aid kit! Instead of collecting make-ups and beauty products... well...let's just leave my source of pure joy alone, shall we. I promise, I'll make more effort to be more health-conscius, aside from being vanity-focused, teehee. I also got myself a month's supply of vitamins & supplements--Vitamin C (for my immune system, to ward off my constant colds), Caltrate Plus, a calcium supplement (i gotta take care of my bones whilst still young, plus am not fond of milk, am lactose-intolerant by choice!), Vitamin E (for my skin, for a glow that comes from within) and Vicks Vaporub (for my sleepless nights due to runny noses and heavy breathin').
Bought at Watson's and just 'coz i can't help my impulsive self from buying extra stuff, I got their freebie pink watch. Cool! I love freebies, who does't!
I also bought some good reads at Book Sale. I just so love this store, think great reads at a fraction of the cost. I got a copy of The Purpose-Driven Life, Soar...if you Dare (both inspirational & motivational) and Danielle Steele's Star. Can't wait to read all of them and get my dose of insights on life and love.
Got Marie Claire mags, as well. Wanna try this one, am always getting Cosmo!
And lastly to fulfill my gastronomic tastes, I got a large box of cereals, 2 boxes of Popcorn, SPAM (just coz i missed it), cans of tuna in hot & spicy, chocolates for Mama & Papa, Gummi Worms for my sis (for me, too!).
So much for my save save save-no-buying-spree campaign! LOL, as if!
XOXO

A Mineral Make-up Junkie
Here are some benefits of Mineral Make-up:
- Mineral makeup takes its inspiration from minerals and inorganic pigments that exist in nature.Best of all, because mineral powders are inorganic and contain no moisture, bacteria do not grow and no preservatives are needed.
- It works on everyone! And every climate. Not only does it contain sunscreen, but cosmetic companies say Mineral Makeup works with humidity. So that means even if you sweat, your makeup stays put.
- It has a natural look and feel. Feels like second skin.
- Natural anti-inflammatory properties, helping heal, calm, and reduce redness in rosacea and acne prone skin types.
- Natural mineral cosmetics preservatives with anti-microbial capabilities that destroy and inhibit the growth of bacteria and microorganisms that can cause acne.
- Conceals, corrects, and covers most known skin discolorations and conditions while still allowing skin to breath.
- Has natural sun protection, with SPF.
- Diminishes the look of fine lines & wrinkles
I've actually digested a lot of information; and 2 weeks ago, I gave in to my cravings (parang food lang, well, they say it's even good enough to eat, well, am not gonna eat it, mind you!), and ordered from Lumiere and Everyday Minerals. I got the sample kit from Lumiere ( 4 foundation shades, 1 blush and 1 finishing powder) and I shelled out $9 only, it comes with free shipping. Pretty cheap right. It's in a small 5g jar and there's really a lot in there, i think it will last me about 3-4 weeks. With Everyday Minerals, I got the custom kit for $32 which includes 2 brushes (a flat-top and a long-handled kabuki), and full jars of foundation, blush, finishing silk powder & eyeshadow. I also got free sample jars of 2 shades of foundation, blush, concealer, plus EDM threw in a lot of other freebies, an eyelash comb/brush, a sooscho buki brush (i still don't know what this is for, i use it as a concealer brush, lol), a new blush they're gonna introduce soon, New Car Smell, this is a peachy bronzed blush. And on top off that, I got a 7% discount off my purchases! Yey! Talked about being generous and worth-my-money! Oh, and I also got a $5 coupon with Lumiere on my next purchase! These MMU companies are really hands-on, and they have the best customer service there is. I mean, we all get this SA's in make-up counters not really knowing what they're saying\, let alone help you pick the best product to suit your taste...well not all of them, but we get those once in a while right?! So these breed of small MMU companies are really a breath of fresh air. And they do offer the loveliest colors! I'm not so into make-ups before, but I have all the essentials and I'm intrigued by beauty and the zillion ways to prettify ourselves. So you can just imagine how mineral make-up piqued my ineterest big time especially since I've read a lot of raves and great feedbacks among its throng of followers!
I got my package exactly 9 days after, why this long, well my dear, these are companies based in the US and shipping takes time, let alone shipping cost! whoa! But let me tell you it's all worth it! The wait, the anxiety, the anticipation, and finally my orders are here! I feel exhilarated, exuberant! What the hell... I feel happy! Opening my package, there lies all the beautiful colors and I can't wait to try them all... But am still in the office so it will take a couple of hours or so before I can play with my new babies!
A bump here & there
Arrggghhhh.... hurts like hell... am gonna have this checked, along with a long overdue dental check-up. Gotta stay healthy these days!

The iT List for 2008
1. My own set of wheels (for cruisin' around)
*a second-hand car would do
2. Vacation outside the country (say Thailand or Hongkong)
3. Boracay or Palawan Trip
4. A good camera.
5. An iPoD (my old one's gearing for retirement)
6. A new
7. A Mac Powerbook
8. A Flatscreen TV
9. A PSP (for the kid in me)
More Orgranization; Less Procrastination
I am organizing my life and focusing on one of the things important to me, my career advancement. I've always been motivated, driven and goal-oriented. I've always dreamed of being part of a dynamic, fast-paced & exciting organization where my inputs are important. Metrobank & Etelecare has been all that and more. Even better than i've expected. My stay with Etelecare has been a whirlwind of oppotunities and unexpected experiences, all of which made me grow not just professionally, but personally as well. I've found true friends who will stick by me thru the ends of the earth. And also friends who had stabbed me in the back a couple of times. All part of life. Lessons are learned; friendships gained; friendships lost. Being a leader in this industry has taught me a lot of things. Too many to fit in a plethora of thoughts jotted down electronically.
I will be leaving soon, with a heavy heart. Titan has made me who I am now and I'm thankful...for everything. I will bring all the good memoirs and hope I leave some of mine to the people I care about. I believe in building bridges and conquering walls, I believe I was able to do some. I believe that in spite of everything that happened, I was still able to impart my skills, knowledge and most of all my heart. I may have had my share of bad moments, but i can say that I've also had the best times of my life here. I've found a bundle of friends who'll move mountains for me & understands my indifference. I've had the best team any TL would ask for, a team who's unity, perseverance & loyalty to each other is unsurpassed. To my leaders who never gave up on me, who trusted me no matter what, who never judged me, who BELIEVED in me, who told me I can, you are all worthy mentors and I wish you more success.
Now, as I embark on another exciting journey towards finding my niche in the corporate arena, i resolve to bring back the old me who's always driven & aspiring. To always be at my game, at my very best. And, as one good mentor quoted me, find my bliss and I'll go for my bliss; I will go for my DREAMS...

A F*cked-up day saved by Starbucks, nails and more!
After our talk I felt much better, nuthin' an ol' macchiato and a listening ear to cheer you up. I may be facing this now but I know I'll emerge stronger. I don't give up I always rise to a good challenge!
So I finally got my Starbucks planner, actually not really that excited bout it coz it' not that too special anymore, the leather's nice but the rest of the planner is just so-so. I'm actually thinking of giving it to my sis.
Will post the pic later, network problem!
Here it is!
Then we had an hour of pampering at California Nails & Day Spa for a mani-pedi. Lurve my french mani and my uber-hot pink toenails! Will definitely go back for my next mani-pedi session. Service i great, plus their polishes are nice and seems to last longer than my usual ones.
Again will post pics...
My nails, in dainty-pink...
and my toes... (I can't believe i'm posting my feet for the whole world to see!)

call-center girl's life
i've been working for eTel for almost 3 years now, and i can say that it had been an overwhelming learning experience for me, professionally and personally.
I started in an outbound campaign for a telecommunications giant - AT&T (merged at that time with Cingular). I was supposed to be in another campaign, Stealth, but they needed people in Excalibur and I was one of the lucky ones chosen. This paved the way for my call-center life. Needless to say, it turned my life around. It was a totally new experience to work during the wee hours of the morning let alone, sleep when there is still light and the whole metro is just buzzing to start their day. It was not hard. I actually find it easy to adapt to a different timezone and outrageously cold working area (perfect for dozing off, hah!). I was amazed at the environment, warm and friendly, but also stressful and not for the faint-of-heart.
unfinished...more to come
